I interrupt...

your regular blog-land reading to bring you this glass mosaic plate!

This plate is actually my sister's... we swap decor during the year.

Have you and your sisters ever done that?

The other day while helping her clean and organize her indoor attic

I found this plate! She had used it for about 6 months and, got tired of it.

So, before we throw it into the garage sale bin we swap!

This is a great and fun way to keep things fresh looking around your home without breaking the bank!

This plate will probably make its way into my other sister's home then eventually to our the garage sale, but first I have to get tired of it!

And if you are wondering about the antlers.. My husband's cousin Norma's sweet husband Greg, gave them to me over the holidays and, that lamp...yup that too was a swap from my sister in-law Lisa.

  1. What a beautiful plate, Marissa! And you have displayed it so nicely with the lamp and the antler. My sisters and I haven't thought about swapping decor. Good idea! But we all love to visit the high end consignment store of one sister and find treasures there.

  7. Wish I had sisters to swap things out with! How fun is that? I am the only girl in the family for several states, so I am just out of luck there, until one of my sons marries!

  9. What a dang fabulous idea! I think that is so fun.
I have a friend that has two sisters and long ago they went to a garage sale and found a really ugly carnival doll. One sister bought it and every time they visit each others home one of the sisters hides the ugly doll and then when that sister finds it they do it again and again. Kinda charming!
I am all about cute but I do have a Tuscan home downstairs...upstairs is the playhouse downstairs is more serious and relaxing. I love the lamp and the plate.
Fun to come for a visit. Thank you for coming to my blog!

  13. Hi Marissa - this swap is a terrific idea. Especially when you can score something wonderful like this plate. My BFF and I sometimes swap things. She is on the look-out for something exactly like that plate for her (very large) mantel. I'm going to send her a link to this so that she knows what to look for.
