I interrupt...

your regular blog-land reading to bring you this glass mosaic plate!

This plate is actually my sister's... we swap decor during the year.

Have you and your sisters ever done that?

The other day while helping her clean and organize her indoor attic

I found this plate! She had used it for about 6 months and, got tired of it.

So, before we throw it into the garage sale bin we swap!

This is a great and fun way to keep things fresh looking around your home without breaking the bank!

This plate will probably make its way into my other sister's home then eventually to our the garage sale, but first I have to get tired of it!

And if you are wondering about the antlers.. My husband's cousin Norma's sweet husband Greg, gave them to me over the holidays and, that lamp...yup that too was a swap from my sister in-law Lisa.

  1. What a beautiful plate, Marissa! And you have displayed it so nicely with the lamp and the antler. My sisters and I haven't thought about swapping decor. Good idea! But we all love to visit the high end consignment store of one sister and find treasures there.

  2. Aye Marissa como me gusta el plato! Esta tan bonito! Por-que los vas a vender? Esta hermosisimo! Me gustaria ir a tu casa nadamas para ver tus arreglos!

    Todo me gusto!

  3. Marissa, como me gusta el plato tambien. And that's about the extent of my high school spanish. LOL. The plate is beautiful. My sister and I swap things too. How nice to get a new look for free!

  4. Hello Marissa. I love the mosaic plate. It looks grea twhere you placed it. I think it's a great idea to swap. I did that with the plates from my recent post. The best part is a new look at no cost.

  5. Ummm, after your next sister has it...I will take it;) haha Looks fabulous!

  6. Hi, I love that plate! My sister is no longer living but she and I always had opposite taste. I do have a sil(sister of my heart)in Ca. that I would love to swap things with. This is a great idea!
    Have a wonderful afternoon.
    Hugs, Noreen

  7. Wish I had sisters to swap things out with! How fun is that? I am the only girl in the family for several states, so I am just out of luck there, until one of my sons marries!

  8. Marissa, que hermoso tienes tu casa! Eres tan guapa para decorar! El plato esta divino! Estas muy bendecida! lo sabes?..

  9. What a dang fabulous idea! I think that is so fun.
I have a friend that has two sisters and long ago they went to a garage sale and found a really ugly carnival doll. One sister bought it and every time they visit each others home one of the sisters hides the ugly doll and then when that sister finds it they do it again and again. Kinda charming!
I am all about cute but I do have a Tuscan home downstairs...upstairs is the playhouse downstairs is more serious and relaxing. I love the lamp and the plate.
Fun to come for a visit. Thank you for coming to my blog!

  10. That piece is a show stopper! You and your sister must have a great time! Mine and myself have never thought of doing that....hmmmm now what do I want to borrow...thanks for the ideas!

  12. What a fantastic idea. And I am loving everything you have on display there!!!! xo Michelle

  13. Hi Marissa - this swap is a terrific idea. Especially when you can score something wonderful like this plate. My BFF and I sometimes swap things. She is on the look-out for something exactly like that plate for her (very large) mantel. I'm going to send her a link to this so that she knows what to look for.

  14. That just sounds like a wonderful idea! How pretty! Thank you so much for all your kind words and prayers for my dad and his heart! It is so wonderful that you would do this. I thank you so very much!
    Bless you!

  15. Thanks for stopping by...I love that kind of colors...beautiful!
