Tealyn at 8 months..

I sat here the other day taking pictures of Tealyn as she played I laughed at all the silly faces she makes when she is happy and content. Usually that's right after breakfast. I can hardly believe she is 8 months It makes me sad and happy all at the same time.  Where does time go?
Babbling and making loud sounds is so much
fun to listen to. I need to record her voice...
We got her this entertainment activity walker. Only it doesn't move it sort of bounces. This thing-a-ma-jig keeps her entertained 20 min max on a good day.
That equals to one cup of coffee and one blog post reading.
Yup, and she is still teething.
everything and I mean EVERYTHING goes into her mouth.
She is so inquisitive, I love it.

Pat-a-cake, pat-a-cake baker's man....
she loves that song..
"Okay you can go drink your coffee now mom"
" Stop no more pictures"
Okay you win.

La lomita chapel

I had completely forgotten I had taken these pictures until yesterday that I was clearing out some of the pictures I had already posted.

La lomita chapel is a historic landmark here Mission TX. We went there the week before Tealyn was born in October, I remember that because I was a basket case.
I remember we stopped here on the way back from a bird park and, I had so many things on my mind. The weight on my shoulders was heavy.
I kneeled here at this altar and prayed for God's peace. I prayed for the baby, the birth mother, and asked God for his will and not mine.
I remember after that prayer, I felt so much peace.
I sat here for a while meditating
just staring at this floor.
I left my petition here.
And a week later on November 1st 2013
My prayers were answered.

Everything fell into place exactly where God intended them to be. He has taken care of birth mother and I will forever be so grateful for her strong unselfish courage.

PS: I am so grateful I found these pictures.

Happy hump day!

Sorry... I couldn't help myself . My husband took this wonderful shot a while back, and it's been sitting here in my computer waiting for its debut.

Daddy's home

This is how it usually goes every day when daddy gets home
Tealyn gets really excited
Then she pouts when he kisses her
too much.
She knows what's next...
A neighborhood stroller ride...till the mosquitos come out.

More Parrots

Did I mention we have lots of parrots around here?
They gather around this fountain every day.
you can hear them from miles away.

One of the greatest things about living in South Texas.

Tealyns Baptismal

I was especially blessed to be able to celebrate my first Mothers day and the beautiful sacrament of baptism of our Tealyn in the same day. It was truly a dream come true.
A little blurry, but here she is being baptized.
I was so proud of her she didn't cry, I think she liked the fresh holy water.

I had these beautiful cookies made at a local bakery they were so delicious! Afterwards we enjoyed a nice buffet lunch with our parents and Godparents. I wish I had used my camera to take more pictures of afterwards in front of the church and our fabulous lunch. Unfortunately, I had so many things to carry and everyone was using their cell phones. Hopefully I will get those soon.
And, here we are rushing out the door
for mass.

If you would like to more about the Sacrament of baptism here is a link

Back Yard make over Phase 1 The fence.

Its been a while I know, but I really, really have been so busy
between getting our backyard fence,  baptismal classes, and so
many other things that life throws at you , I honestly had not had a chance for blogging. I am trying to catch up every chance I get . Right now, its perfect. She is napping, I have the dryer going, my phone is off  and praise God the kitchen is clean.

The fence:
Here's the deal... never underestimate the power of privacy.
I will never take that for granted again.

Its amazing.
Tealyn and I have been reading books in the shade, lying lazy in the hammock, looking at birds, listening to sesame street classic music on pandora.  And I feel confident that no one is staring or noticing that I am wearing my trusty black stretchy yoga pants 3 days in a row.

And, even though,  I got a little sick with the cedar dust (allergies) and felt light headed for several days.

I still think it was worth it.
Stay tuned for phase 2 landscaping.
I am so excited.....

loving these days.

The days are sometimes long and full of laundry.

Naps are short and some days shorter

especially when teething.

everything is new and full of wonder.

I'm just loving these days that soon
will fade.
All I can do is hold you tight.
and live in
this very moment.

A sweet reminder.

I was on a mission all this month to go out in my yard and get my toes in the mud. I wanted to
clean around the bushes, and get this place spruced up again, so
the first chance I got, I went out with the baby and my
pruning shears.

I was in a hurry because I had her in the stroller
and
thought what if a she gets fussy and I can't finish?

Then I was reminded

And , so I did.

I slowed down and took my time. When she got fussy, I took a  break. When she got hungry, I stopped and fed her. When she got sleepy, I went inside and laid her down. It took me a little longer
than it would have , but really does it matter?

She is my constant reminder of how not sweat the small stuff
and
enjoy life at a slower pace.

And we are.
