Fall~ ing in love

I am Fall~ing in love with the nice cool front that has come our way. Thank heavens!  I actually have my windows open for the first time in a long, long time. This weather that happens to be in lower 70s  instantly picks me up, lifts me, and changes my mood. All of a sudden, I am thinking pumpkin bread and pumpkin spice latte.

So, in the spirit of cooler weather, I thought I'd share with you this collage of fall around my home. I am proud to say I did not go out and spend a fortune instead, I used what I had and made the most of it. I visit so many beautiful blogs that take my breath away with their elegant style decorating, gorgeous homes, and perfect dishes. And because I am human, it's hard looking over the fence and not feel like a wimpy weenie when decorating my home. I have to remind myself of all the many, many blessings God has given me and when I remember, (cause it's easy to forget when looking over the fence)  I find joy in putting the same candle holder on my table even if its the 5th time around.

Thank you Jesus!

  1. Your decor is beautiful! The older I get, the more I realize that many of the homes I admire are decorated in the same "use what you have" way. It's not necessary to spend a fortune to achieve a beautiful look.

  4. From one wimp to another, isn't this real life? And your real life is lovely! Your touches of fall look natural and soft and gentle. I'm so happy for the cooler air coming through your open windows, that moment you've waited for so long. That's better than the most expensive perfume.

    1. Those velvet pumpkins are from Ross stores.. I spotted those in the pillow section and some where in the front as you check out... I hate that Ross is always upside down and on the floors...

  8. Hi Marissa, I enjoy seeing all the fall decorating on peoples posts, and yours is lovely.
We don't decorate with the seasons over here so it is quite a novelty to me and I enjoy what I see. We decorate at Christmas and usually it is with a cold Christmas in mind (even though it is the middle of summer over here). That is a leftover from our English/European heritage I guess. I have been looking out for more summer themed Christmas decorations the last few years but they are few and far between.

    blessings,
    Diana

  10. Gorgeous pictures of your home! You have decorated it so beautifully! Who cares if you have used the same candle holder! It is your home, your energy, your love, your family. You can look over the fence, but do you really know what is going on over there? LOL! Take care of you ;o)

  11. You have some beautiful Fall touches throughout your home! I love those plush velvet pumpkins too. I think we have all felt some envy at one time or another when looking at pics of someone elses home, but we do need to remember that the most important thing in life is happiness with ourselves and our family. Good health too! Everything else will follow. I think it's best to try to use what we have anyway. It forces us to be more creative and then our homes look more special. So glad that you share that attitude!

  12. Hi Marissa, Girl your house looks beautiful but I totally understand about all the incredible decorating styles in blog land-I also look over the fence. We are blessed indeed and I count myself blessed to have found your blog and see what is happening in your life.

  13. Beautiful decorations! I look at your house "over the fence" and think how nice it is. I use the same decorations over and over but since I see them only once a year, it's always new to me. Having some things with a history makes it nice.
