  1. Thank you for commenting on my blog. I love your bird pictures and just had to laugh at the last one and the comment. I too try to capture birds and have deleted many photos because they weren't looking at me. Have a great day!

  6. Oh how I love birds.. and it was fun to see the ones you posted! One of the best parts of having our water feature in our backyard is seeing all the birds that come to drink and bathe in it. Just yesterday there were yellow goldfinches! ((hugs)), Teresa :-)

  8. Hi Marissa, you were asking about the bird feeder for my waxeyes. Very easy. Melt some dripping (lard), mix in rolled oats (or other breakfast cereal) and broken up wholegrain bread crusts. When it cools a bit pour it into disposable cups and let it set. Put a long string through the bottom of the cup before you pour so you have a long piece like a candle wick and long enough so you can tie it to a tree or bush. I hope that makes sense.
Waxeye is the name of the bird, a New Zealand native bird, also known as a Silver-eye.
I love the photo's in this post, the birds are so colourful.

  11. They are so beautiful. I love them. I have been trying to take a photo of my woodpecker but so far he keeps turning his back to me and blends in with the bark on the tree, little stinker that he is. Have a great weekend. Hugs

  14. Good Morning Marissa, I'm glad to be back and able to catch up on all my friends posts. Alaska was incredible! We took a train ride from McKinley National Park to Whittier, where we caught the boat and actually were able to see Sarah & Todd's house as well as her parents house. Pretty cool.
Have a great day my friend!
    Hugs, Noreen

  15. Until very recently, I had no idea of all the varieties of jays. Your green jays here are another example of some that are new to me. I'm sure that they don't belong on the hummingbird feeder! Cute captures of so many birds...I like the oriole doing those neat tricks. He's a contortionist.
