Rajas Poblanas

This is my new favorite side dish.

Don't you just love it
when
you discover a new dish?

This dish is amazing!!
It goes well with
anything.

I love how the combinations come together.
its
smokey and creamy

a little
charred and spicy
oh oh so good!

takes just a little work.
but,
oh so worth it.

Rajas Poblanas

            1. Blend the crema, cream cheese, and chicken bouillon in a blender until smooth; set aside.
            2. Place the peppers on a large griddle over medium-high heat. Roast until the skin blisters and turns black. Remove peppers from griddle and place in a plastic bag, allowing them to sweat for 5 minutes. Transfer to a plate to cool. Peel and discard the outer skin of the peppers; halve length-wise and remove the seeds and veins. Slice into thick strips. Set aside.
            3. Heat the vegetable oil in a large saucepan over medium-high heat; cook the onion in the hot oil until tender, about 5 minutes. Stir the corn into the onions, reduce the heat to medium, and cook another 5 minutes. Add the poblano strips to the saucepan. Pour the cream mixture over the vegetables and bring to a simmer; cook at a simmer until hot, about 5 minutes more.

  4. regarding your comment on my blog. The landlord says no painting inside. And we get inspected by the management co every 6 months. But they love to come and see my decor LOL. I would love to paint the front door. This landlord is so strict its incredible. And riciculous. So would you still do it? Paint inside?Im tempted. I guess the worst thing is we wouldnt get our deposit back. Ps. She has no intention on selling this home.It is her retirement and she has a hard time letting go of things. She inherited other properties and wont sell them either. We got a binder full of what we can and cannott do after we signed the lease of course. ( nice) . But after hearing horror stories and watch " Horrible tenants" on tv. She is one lucky lady that we are excellant renters! :) mishelle

    1. Ps. I did paint the dining room. And the inspecter never said anything.:) the landlord said no when i asked. But I couldnt take it . It will be easy to repaint . Cause she left the exact paint color info swatch and a can of house paint here. But told me I would have a hard time matching the paint color. Cause i said i would paint it back before we moved out. Duh, :(

    2. I would sit and talk to your landlord... and set a few things straight.. like all the landscaping that you did is a benefit for the home. That money can never be replaced...also make him or her an offer they can't refuse... tell them how much you love and appreciate their home. and if all that does not work.. slowly start looking... Landlord needs to appreciate you. You have done an outstanding job to his house.

  7. OH, that looks so good. And almost everything in it, I can't eat. But I would steal a bite off of someone's plate. Peppers and the cheese would so do me in, but it looks like it might be worth it.

  10. Oh that looks good! My father used to char the peppers outside on a gas grill to peel them. How do I do it if I only have an electric stove? Help!

    1. Dewena, You can put them on your pan. No oil just let them get hot and eventually they will char. just remember to turn on your vent or open a window.. it gets smokey....
