Finally...

I finally got a visit from hummingbird Speedy Gonzalez. He was so fast my finger had to be on the shutter button the whole time. I did exactly what some of you wonderful bloggers advised. I got me a cheaper feeder,( like dollar store cheap) hung it from a tree limb, waited patiently with my weenie camera
and
 Vwa -la~ hummingbirds!!
Thank you bloggers!!

So excited!!

  2. Wow - great shot of the hummingbird. I've been wanting to get one - I might just do that and get one from the dollar store and see how it goes. Speedy Gonzalez - great name. That is what they use to call my dad when he was working. Happy 4th of July!

  3. Who knew that expensive isn't necessarily better? So glad this new feeder worked out for you. You must have a lot of patience to sit and wait for a hummingbird to show up. But your patience was rewarded. These are great shots!

  4. Hi Marissa, I love hummingbirds but stopped feeding them years ago because I couldn't keep the feeders full and we had issues with yellow jackets. I now try to plant flowers that they can get nectar from-but I do love seeing them at feeders. Thank you friend for sharing!

  14. I didn't realize that the cheap feeders were just fine. That's good to know since I don't have one yet and have been contemplating getting one. I love watching hummingbirds. Your pictures turned out great too! Glad that you are enjoying your new view now.

  15. Yay! Great photos. Who knew a cheapo feeder is what they were waiting for. Maybe they were too intimidated by the fancy one :)
