Meet Pixie Lou
Pixie Lou is a rescued dog that my husbands cousin gave us. She found her on a very rainy day in the middle of intersection wet, matted and very hungry. She took her in, fed her, and took her to the groomer. The next day she put signs all over town hoping someone would claim her. No luck. She then posted her on Facebook and that is where I saw her. I told her if no one would claim her I would love to take her in. A couple of days later she was ours.
Pixie is an older dog, blind, a little deaf, missing some of her teeth and the ones she has are loose. She gets startled easily and is learning to trust us.
Housebreaking....Well, thats another story. She has accidents when I get company. I don't know why? Otherwise she is learning and most of the time lets us know.
So far so good.

Good for you for taking a rescue dog. I just read about the locked car. I am so thankful they he got your baby out. Technology can be a brat. xo, olive
ReplyDeleteThank you!!!
ReplyDeletethat's referred to as submissive peeing. she's nervous so shows her submissiveness to avoid being 'attacked' by an alpha dog. i think. bless you for taking her in.
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness!
DeleteI need to google this and find out what to do.
Thank you.:)
Awww pixie lou! She's got a good home! : )
ReplyDeleteLOL.
DeleteNot only a home a bed with her own room Well, the utility room at least :)
She's a cutie.
ReplyDeleteThank you Kristi!
DeleteBless you for taking in an older dog. Last week when I was at the vets someone brought in a tiny puppy that was found roadside. I really wanted to adopt it but can't because where we hope to move there is a limit on pets. Someone fro the vet's office did adopt the puppy. My 10 year old Yorkie is incontinent. She does potty when she is excited but potties all the time. She prefers to potty on a pad in the house. at least she goes on the pad. She has never been well potty trained. You might try the pads.......but sounds like she just gets excited.
ReplyDeleteYes, that is our next move, but I hear it smells up your home...
DeleteThat is very awesome that you rescued Pixie :)
ReplyDeleteWOW, you had some "excitement" in the last post. Thankful that it is all taken care of.
warmly,
deb
Yes , I don't like that type of excitement. ..LOL
DeleteWhat excitement you have had with your new car, not the type you want though.
ReplyDeleteAnd well done for taking in a rescue dog, she is a wee cutie.

You have such a kind heart, Marissa. Pixie is a lucky girl. blessings ~ tanna
ReplyDeleteThank you.
DeleteYour little Pixie Lou is the cutest dog ever! She just pees because she is excited. God bless you for taking an older dog with several problems. So much better she has a loving home than she be put to sleep. I hope she just got lost and no one threw her out. I don't understand how people can just get rid of their pets.
ReplyDeleteThat is what my husband was thinking too. Someone threw her out because she got to old.
DeleteBig Hugs and lots of love to Pixie Lou ;o) She has been blessed to go into your home Marissa ;o) xoxoxo
ReplyDeleteAwww! She's adorable. You are a very special person to take her in considering all of her problems and you having already having a baby to take care of. She probably pees when people come over because she gets so excited and loses bladder control. I've known some dogs to do that. I hope she will thrive in your home and everything works out.
ReplyDeletelucky lucky little puppy...you are a sweety my friend~!
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful face on such a little girl. You have such a good soul...God bless your heart for loving her.
ReplyDeleteShe is so cute!
