The other day, while at my parents house my father shows me his little digital jar bank he received from a Christmas 2011 white elephant game , he had $186.00 dollars saved in one year just from picking up a penny here and there and loose pocket change. I got so excited I wanted to start one.
I went hunting all the stores for a digital jar bank just like my dads and, I found one at the Family Dollar for $6.00 I got home and started cleaning everything!.. cars, old purses, wallets, and of course junk drawers and every time I came across a dime or penny I would smile get excited and have my day's thrill of watching the jar bank total go up. Yes little things like this thrill me..
My grand total... $8.72 in one day!... who knew?
I can't wait to see how much I can save by the end of the year!... I will keep you posted!

You willbe surprised how fast it adds up. I have been trying to pay in dollars to get the change. I have the change in a big pitcher where I can't see how much is in there. When it reaches the top I will count it and see.
ReplyDeleteI bought mine from Avon about two years. Twice we have filled it up to $200. We are back up to $54.95. Every day when my husband gets home he emptys his pockets of loose change. I do the same. It is fun watching that change grow!

We had one of those from Avon that got stolen with $120 in it. Now we have another in the shape of a Phillies ball cap. Moving on up with that one. It's amazing how fast it adds up.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea!
ReplyDeleteThis really does work, Marissa. But we need to start robbing the jar of quarters when we forget to go to the bank!
ReplyDeletethanks for your sweet comment on my blog. I see my friend Debby follows you too. Any question you might have shoot me an email! She is right you will be surprised how fast change adds up. Have a good weekend. Following you now!
ReplyDeleteMarissa, I am going on a cruise to Alaska in July and I got one of those banks to save money for the trip. I can't believe how fast that change adds up. But, I bet I can spend it pretty fast also. Ha
ReplyDeleteDidn't you say today was your birthday..? Happy birthday. Your present might be a little late.

Marissa Thank you to you and your Dad! I really need to do that and isn't it amazing what you can save if you do it...Good motivation!
ReplyDeleteWow! I have never seen anything like it... but I think I want one now! Good luck saving :)
ReplyDeleteWonderful! I like, like, like this idea too. Something my mom would teach me to do when I was little. We used to make envelopes and target each envelope for different needs or wants. Charming and special and in the end, it all added up!
ReplyDeleteBy the way Marissa...I am Jan. 19th too!!!
Happy, Happy Birthday to us!!!
Hi there, We did a similar saving jar a few years ago-and added all our loose dollar bills. By the end of the year, we had saved close to $600. and used it on our vacation.
ReplyDeleteHugs today.

I've never seen one of those digital banks before. That's a good idea. I save change I find on the ground (mostly pennies) so mine doesn't add up as fast as yours!
ReplyDeletesounds like something I need to do
ReplyDeleteI'll bet you are pleasantly surprised at the end of the year!! =D I'll be looking forward to seeing how much you "find". blessings ~ tanna
ReplyDeleteThat is so cool! I've never seen one of those digital things before. The kids use all our change for lunch money. :) Best wishes, Tammy
ReplyDeleteMy son has one of those. We take it to the bank once a year and he's been averaging around $150 a year just with loose change. It's like free money!
