A busy week...

Summer is here and for me it means only one thing... PROJECTS!.. You know those you keep putting off till later. Like those crazy wasps that keep returning!
Or the broken sprinkler that has been so weak and killing parts of your yard?..(in case your wondering NO that isn't Romeo) I wish...
Or the Pest control guy that keeps calling you saying.."Its time your 3 months are up"...
And the washer and dryer You've been eyeing! finally arrives!!!
Well, that's the crazy week we have had!!! First we called Rainbow sprinkler systems they sent someone within the hour...really! he came out took a look and said " yeah its broken" so, he began to dig...
To get to this....
He went to his truck got the part he needed replaced broken piece and just like that. Our problem disappeared!
The next day...guess who shows up?
Did I mention 7.30 am?.. I was alone Romeo had left really early to take his nephew to a camp..You should of seen me... rushing to make my bed, brush my teeth,change, freshen the room with a little room perfume (like he cared) grab my trusty camera, and run for the door.
By the end of the week my washer and dryer arrive...

And of course there always has to be a problem....
Apparently, this tube whatever it is was to big for the dryer vent... After going back and fourth to the hardware store, we finally got the right size...I did my first load and I have to tell you... between you and me ..I can't get use to it. The new washers don't fill up like the old ones and it also doesn't need lots of detergent I don't know about you, but I love to see suds!! I kept reading the manual to make sure less soap was going to make it clean.. I sneaked more in anyway!

Meagan's Confirmation Cake....

For Meagan's Confirmation, I decided, I would take care of the cake. So, after calling a few bakery's, and almost falling out of my chair with every call I made $$$$$ I, decided I would make her cake. So, I went to the nearest cake supply store and bought a Cross shape cake pan for $9.99, some sugar roses 4 for $ 1.00, and some eatable pearls $2.49 a bag. I already had the cake mix and glaze. My total purchase $15.97 I had really wanted to roll out fondant but, I didn't have time to learn and I already had the glaze... (The fondant is my next goal) I had so much fun applying each little pearl with a tooth pick. I know it's not so professional looking but, I think with more practice I can do better.
Plus I saved tons of money....

Meagan gets Confirmed...

This Saturday Meagan, my niece received The Sacrament of Confirmation at Our Lady of Perpetual Help. She chose her uncle Romeo to be her Sponsor..( My camera was acting funny. Of all times.... So,you might have to squint a little.) Here they are with our Bishop Daniel Flores. After the mass, we had lunch with our Bishop in the parish hall. Nathan refused to leave his favorite stuffed Dinosaur "Chico" at the table... After the lunch, we went back to Bey's house for a small reception here she is posing with the cake I made her.... While everyone sat lounging around watching Nathan play with Baileys Wii


I noticed something..... I took a close up .... and then made the mistake of telling him. He quickly fixed his mistake.... His boots were backwards the whole time ....

Happy Birthday Dear Sister in law....

Today, is my sister in-law Monique's Birthday!.

Monique, is such a loving and caring person. Always thinking and putting others before herself is just a few of her many wonderful ways!

Monique, has always been there for her brothers,and parents through the tough times! I will never forget her support and assistance while Romeo was in college! She is an amazing sister in law!

So on this day, Monique I pray for your happiness I pray for unexpected moments of joy and laughter and I pray that all your days be filled with the wonder of God’s special love for you.

Frozen Strawberry Margarita Pie

While going through my recipes, I stumbled into this one and, I knew, I had to make it. A few ingredients... This, is the secret! Freshly squeezed lime.... Yes, it calls for alcohol... One whole can of this.... Fresh strawberry's Surprisingly this pretzel crust wasn't salty... Mix all the above... Pour into crust, freeze over night, and wholla!! You got yourself a cocktail and dessert all in one.... Nice and creamy... I, had two slices and, I must say it is very refreshing!

Smell of Gardenias

This morning, I woke up to my Gardenia bush blooming! I have been anxiously waiting on a flower or two..

I thought about leaving them alone all morning...

But then, I had a better idea!..

I thought they could give me better company inside...
The smell is like no other... Pure heaven!... As, I walk through my kitchen, I get a sudden burst of sweet,clean, delicate perfume filling the air.
Don't you just love the purity of whiteness in a flower?

I think Gardenia flowers would make a beautiful brides bouquet... Don't you think?
I can hardly wait for the next flowers..
